I’ve recently bought a Haylou GT1 earbuds (these are China manufactured earbuds). The earbuds were good, but after a few weeks of using them on multiple devices, something went wrong: the earbuds suddenly didn’t pair with each other anymore. One side would connect to the phone, the other would stay silent, and no amount of putting them back in the case would fix it. After searching some manuals I found out that there are steps to pair them back again. So this is just a small compilation of what I did.

🔧 The Pairing Reset

Here is the sequence that restored mine. It takes a couple of minutes, and the timing matters, so read each step before you start:

1. Take the Earbuds Out

First, remove your earbuds from their casing (they were off and just turned on). We want to start from a known state, with both earbuds powered up and doing nothing else.

2. Turn Them Off

Turn them off by touching them for 3 seconds (a red LED will blink once it turned off). Do this for both earbuds, one after the other, and wait until the red blink confirms each one is off.

3. Touch Both at the Same Time

When both the earbuds are already not running, touch both of the earbuds at the same time and wait for 20 seconds. This simultaneous press is what tells the pair to forget their old relationship and get ready for a fresh one.

The earbuds LED should blink red and white at around 15 seconds, and then it would blink again at the 20 seconds mark. Make sure both earbuds blink twice, because the second blink is the confirmation that the reset actually took.

5. Back to the Case

Return both earbuds back into their case. This lets them power down cleanly and remember the new pairing state.

6. Forget the Old Pairing

Then, on your phone’s Bluetooth settings, delete the pairing connection you’ve done before specifically for this device. Your phone needs to forget the old fingerprint of the earbuds, otherwise it will keep trying to reconnect to the broken pairing.

7. Let Them Pair

Pull out the earbuds from their case and wait for them to pair with each other. You should hear the connection chime when the two sides find each other.

8. Reconnect to the Phone

On your phone connect to the Haylou-GT1_R device. I’ve specifically specified the Haylou-GT1_R as this is the fastest of the two earbuds to pair. Once connected, both sides should work again as if they came out of the box.

🧠 Final Thoughts

When all that is done, you’ve now completely restored your earbuds pairing to one another. The reset is a bit ritualistic, honestly, but it works, and the next time one of your earbuds goes silent, you will know exactly what to do.
