Today I’ve started doing some exercise (some basics stretching and push-ups), trying to make the new year promise real for more than a week this time. Then after that I’ve played some music on my laptop. Most of the music I’ve played was EDM (Electronic Dance Music) genre on 8D surround sound, and honestly it is a whole new experience. The audio swirls around your head, left, right, behind you, like the music is orbiting your brain. I’ve tried to dance to it, but I failed horribly. The music moved in 8D; my feet moved in 2D, and the two never met.
🧹 A Morning of Cleaning
At around 8am, I’ve started cleaning the outer room. I’ve mopped the tile floors till they became white again. Four hours passed after cleaning, which tells you exactly how much white needed to be rediscovered underneath that floor.
A Shopee (an e-commerce site that is popular in Southeast Asia) delivery guy arrived to deliver a package that I’ve ordered last week. You know what is interesting about that event: when I asked the price, the delivery guy said it’s 215 pesos. I went back into my room to get my money pouch; I’ve checked my phone and to my disbelief the actual price was 200 pesos only. I told him about the price indicated on the app, and suddenly he changed his statement. What the fudge, that cheapskate was trying to rip me off.
Lesson of the day: always check the app before you hand over cash, because 15 pesos is not the point, the principle is the point. Also, that is exactly how you spot a delivery scammer: they rarely argue when you show them the receipt.
💻 The Usual Evening
At 3 PM PST (Philippine Standard Time), I’ve started to work on my day job. Then in the evening I started to code back on my own project. It’s around 2 AM now the next day as I write this journal. The 8D music kept me company through both, and I have to admit the night went by faster than usual.
🧠 Final Thoughts
A normal day on paper: exercise, cleaning, one attempted scam, work, code. But the kind of day that makes a diary worthwhile, because the small details, the 8D sound, the overcharging delivery guy, the 2AM coding session, are the texture of a real life.
If you have not tried 8D audio yet, put on your earphones, find an EDM track, and close your eyes for one song. And if a delivery rider ever asks for more than the app says, check first, pay second.
